Owl Pellet Quick Facts

Owl Pellets are the indigestible remains of an Owl's food. Fur, feathers, teeth, claws, and bones cannot be broken down by an Owl's stomach. They are indigestible. After enjoying its meal the Owl vomits a pellet, or more than one. Some Owls will regurgitate a pellet a short time after eating while others can take several hours.

By opening the Owl Pellet we can discover what the Owl ate. These remains can include rodent bones and fur. In fact pellets from larger Owl species can contain bones from of other Owls!
